Two of Downtown Kenosha’s favorite fitness entrepreneurs, Jenna Martin of Hot Yoga, and Augustus Harris of Flex and Burn, have joined forces to bring Kenosha FireCycle, located in Flex and Burn at 5711 Sixth Avenue.
“She’s good at something, and I’m good at something, and we were both looking to expand,” Harris told Downtown Kenosha magazine. With a shared customer base, they decided to combine their forces for the greater good of the health of Kenosha residents.
At Flex and Burn, Harris provides more than just a workout. Flex & Burn requires no membership dues or fees; only pay for coached sessions where all prices are reasonable. Training takes place Monday through Saturday and times may be set up by contacting Gus directly. Initial consultations are free, and he encourages you to come with questions and be prepared to discuss your schedule so you can determine what dates and times work best.
With Hot Yoga, the room is heated to 105 degrees with 40% humidity, with increased spinal flexion and range of motion, you work every single muscle.. everything from bone to skin.
“Hot yoga is a vigorous form of yoga performed in a very warm and humid studio. There are many different types of hot yoga classes,” Martin said. “Bikram yoga is a 90-minute program that consists of a series of different standing and stretching postures. The postures require lengthy, forceful and sustained contractions of all major muscle groups. The demanding nature of the poses and the heat are designed to raise your heart rate and exercise your muscles.”
The new FireCycle workout is an intimate indoor cycling studio that specializes in rhythm-based rides, which means you ride to the beat of the music. Martin and Harris pride themselves on being an approachable studio that gives riders of all abilities an amazing workout that’s fun and effective.
