March 31 (UPI) — Star Wars legend and prolific voice actor Mark Hamill has announced he is lending his voice to the demon doll Chucky in the upcoming horror movie, Child’s Play. “People let me tell you ’bout my best friend… The wicked fun begins when @ChildsPlayMovie is unleashed in theaters: Friday, June 21st 2019. #SoLuckyImChucky,” Hamill tweeted Saturday. The message accompanied a brief video in which Hamill said: “I can’t wait to bring such an iconic character to life and present him in a way that you’ve never seen before. Child’s Play. This summer, we’re going to have some fun. And remember: he’s more than just a toy. He’s your best friend.” Director Lars Klevberg is filming the remake in Vancouver, Canada. Mckenna Grace to star in next ‘Ghostbusters’ adventure
March 31 (UPI) — Captain Marvel and Designated Survivor alum Mckenna Grace is to star in writer-director Jason Reitman‘s upcoming Ghostbusters movie. The Hollywood Reporter said Grace will play the sister of a character played by Finn Wolfhard (Stranger Things.) Carrie Coon from The Leftovers will play their mother in the new Ghostbusters movie, which is expected to open in theaters in 2020. “Meet the family,” Reitman tweeted along with photos of the three actors. Grace was seen in last year’s anthology series The Haunting of Hill House and will also star in this summer’s horror movie, Annabelle Comes Home. When the Ghostbusters project was announced in January, Reitman said the film would not be a reboot of the franchise, but rather a contemporary sequel to 1984’s Ghostbusters and 1989’s Ghostbusters II, which his father, Ivan Reitman, helmed. March 31 (UPI) — The live-action adaptation of Disney‘s cartoon classic Dumbo is the No. 1 movie in North America, earning $45 million in receipts, BoxOfficeMojo.com announced Sunday. Coming in at No. 2 is Us with $33.6 million, followed by Captain Marvel at No. 3 with $20.5 million, Five Feet Apart at No. 4 with $6.3 million and Unplanned at No. 5 with $6.1 million.
